efficiencyUSA is the sponsor and workforce side of Green Home Club LLC. We help state programs, contractors, and coaches turn home energy audits into clearer next steps.
Our main tool is Green Home Predictor, a planning platform that organizes audit findings, homeowner intake, field notes, and contractor observations into a working Home Snapshot. From there, the tool helps create Review Findings, Contractor Workscope guidance, and a Budget Plan with planning-level cost bands.
The goal is simple: help more homes move from audit confusion to sensible action.
Why This Work Matters
Many homeowners get an energy audit and still do not know what to do first. Contractors may receive incomplete information, rebate programs may require documentation, and good projects can stall before anyone agrees on the next step.
Green Home Predictor is built to help with that middle stage.

A Founder-Led Approach
efficiencyUSA is led by John Horchner, founder of Green Home Club LLC in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
John’s background combines energy program experience, information systems, publishing, and homeowner education. In 2009, he worked with efficiencyPA, a residential home energy savings initiative in Pennsylvania, and helped manage the Pittsburgh-area beta test of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Home Energy Score software.
That experience shaped the basic problem Green Home Predictor is trying to solve: an energy score or audit can identify issues, but homeowners and contractors still need help turning that information into a practical plan.
Before returning to energy work, John built and managed national information products and online content systems like MeetingSource.com and worked in publishing at Good Housekeeping magazine. That background now informs the structure of Green Home Predictor: organize complex information, make it easier to review, and turn it into useful next steps.
